“Pachyderm”

2008, mild steel, wire rope, wood, LED lighting effects

Part flora, part fauna, Pachyderm is a whimsical creation which seems to capture the trumpeting of an elephant in stop-motion. Its illuminated horns reach out to greet you, while the chubby arms seem to invite you to come in and have a seat on the park bench within.

Initially commissioned and exhibited at the 2008 Dumbo Arts Festival, NYC, Pachyderm has evolved and traveled widely. She has been exhibited at a variety of Bay Area events, including the Autumn Lights Festival, Oakland, CA.
